Analysis of the Ricci Ricci print ad

The print ad of the perfume Ricci Ricci is a long running advert aimed at girls who are about teenagers and over. Probably to city girls because the print ad had a urban setting which could suggest its target audience are to girls who love the city.

The use of colours connote a mixture of femininity, innocence and much more. The spokes model is wearing a black outfit and black connotes authority, power, it also could shows shes constantly stylish. But it does imply some mischievousness. Girls who see this advert may feel that if they to wear this perfume they would be like her. The hot pink represents youth, femininity and excitement. The strip of pink that goes around the girl and covers wherever she goes could suggest that this attractive perfume leaves a mark wherever you go amd would attract a lot of attention. The eiffel tower is a very famous land mark and the pink, which really is describing the trail of the perfumes scent, is wrapped around it which could suggest that the perfume is just as popular and well known.

Children of men

The media text opens with Universals famous opening (Universal is the institutions) except instead of the epic music it was silent which could suggest something drastic has happened in the movie or the world. A news report then starts while names appear on the black screen, the news cast doesn't make perfect sense because they keep repeating that "the youngest person in the world has died." This is very unreal which suggest it could be supernatural or Sci Fi genre. The camera then moves to the large crowd of people all standing exactly the same in unison watching the news report in the cafe. The cafe is very dull and grey and every one's face is clearly upset about the recent death of the "youngest person." Except one man who struggles his way through the crowd to get his coffee and leave. He to seems upset but he is able to move on, the fact that he was the only one who is able to carry on could be a foreshadowing of what will happen later on.
The target audience is most likely to be for people who are 15 and over. The opening was very dark and sombre. Its too gloomy and mature for the younger audience. From  the 10 minute preview I could tell the movie is probably a drama, Sci Fi and action adventure. This is because the dramatic opening of people grieving together shows the drama aspect. There was also a bomb which exploded on a normal street and people not injured continued as if nothing happened while the screaming went on. The news report also showing the catosrophe and wars everywhere around the world shows the action.
The social group are represented as one together all suffering. The movies starts out in London and the camera shot which zoomed in on to the playing TV shows the rest of the world is being affected just as much. Also the panning of the sceneary, as the the main character take the train shows the complete destruction and corruption London has turned into. The movie shows everyone is being affected not one group, like the rich, are not being affected, this could have been done to make the movie more dramatic.

Chrome advert

The new chrome advert starring the "newest entrepreneur" Jamal Edwards is what am going to analyse using media language. The music is loud, up beat and is what really catches the attention from the audience, young people would recognise the hit new single from wretch 32 so the target audience is probably teens. There are camera shots of Jamals first few videos ever and the comments, its all very informal, slang. The quick camera shots could show excitement and represent Jamal progressing over the years, its all very overwhelming and its could relate to how overwhelming Jamals life was. Going back to Wretch 32, Jamal could want to promote his music, there are other images of celebrities in the video which could show success for Jamal. In the video there was a picture of Jamal signing a contract with sony, this is obviously the institution who is now going to promote SB.TV and help Jamal. Sony is a world known organisation, its very large and very successful so this could show they beleive Jamal is going to also be successful.

Olswang made me want to be a LAWYER!!!!

For my Government and politics class Mr Adcock took us out for the day to this very swanky and impressive law firm called Olswang, we all sat in these comfy chairs while they gave us this presentation about more of what this law firm does. They work for some amazing companies like H&M, River Island, Disney, BBC, NBC, The guardian and much more, the people were really nice and they told us that if you love reading (which i do) then this is a job you might want to look into (which i will). We also got a tour of the whole of parliment, it was incredible, its even more beautiful in the inside, i swear every inch of that place has been decorated with carvings, detailed painting or statues, the tour guide actually said there are 900 statues of monarch in the building which is pretty amazing, anyway the place looks incredible with its lush carpet and that old feel...
